Thoughts from Rhode Island (RI) Hypnotist John Koenig helping clients in Rhode Island (RI) and Massachusetts (MA) make important personal changes since 1998.
Hypnosis is a trance state similar to meditation but with a major difference: in hypnosis you consciously re-program your subconscious mind to achieve your goals.Think of hypnotism as un-hypnotizing yourself out of limiting beliefs. It can make what seemed impossible suddenly possible.
Hypnosis most frequently is used to change habits. But it’s not just habits of behavior. You can also change habitual ways of thinking or feeling. Smokers become non-smokers. People struggling with weight issues lose weight and keep it off. Nail biters stop biting nails. But also people obsessed by relationships or facing career or educational blocks become free. Negative thinkers learn the habit of positive thinking. The fearful become, if not brave, at least comfortable in their own skin.
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnotism for psychotherapy and is conducted typically by a licensed mental health counselor. I am a Hypnotic Coach and Board Certified Hypnotist (National Guild of Hypnotists) as well as a Certified Instructor. I work with ordinary people with everyday problems - issues such as smoking, weight, stress, confidence, relationships and careers. I do work with other issues frequently as a complement to a medical treatment team under the direction of properly qualified professionals. I am also a Certified Instructor with the National Guild of Hypnotists and train others to become professional hypnotists or add hypnotism to their current practice (including medical professionals). Click here for more information about the field of hypnotism including a caution against non-accredited "Doctorates in Hypnotherapy."
It is important to know that anyone
can be hypnotized and you are always in control during hypnosis. In fact, you
are far more in control because you are re-writing your own “script.” All
hypnosis is, in fact, self-hypnosis. Any hypnotist, no matter how skilled, is
simply a guide to your inner mind. And hypnosis is not occult, or magic. Though
the results often seem miraculous.
Hypnosis is a brief, highly effective intervention. Many hypnotists in our area will even provide a free evaluation session to answer your questions if you are curious. So, if you like to change in 2013, give one of us a call. You don’t have anything to lose except maybe a habit that is keeping you from the abundant, peaceful and successful life that is naturally yours. And there is much to gain. Here is a partial list of uses of hypnosis to start you thinking:
Stop Smoking
Lose Weight (and keep it off) Reduce Stress
Enhance Psychotherapy Results
Build Confidence
Improve Study Skills
Improve Test Taking (College, Civil Service, Standardized Tests)
Remove or Minimize Fears

The list of hypnosis’ uses is limited
only by your imagination. So, what can you imagine changing? What habits are
you ready to let go of? What new possibilities do you think you’d like to bring
into your life this year?
Free consultations for those wondering whether hypnosis is right for them. Call 401-374-1890 if interested. I will explain hypnosis and do a test or two of hypnotizability. Either Warwick, Rhode Island or Seekonk, MA office.
